Steve, I'm with you too.  If I wanted a cheap-o FWD small car, I'd get a
Honda with much better reliability and build quality.  I've never been a
fan of VW either, although some of their newer cars are probably worth
consideration (like the Phaeton and whatever that supercar is with 1000hp
and AWD) because they approach & share Audi-dom.

It would be great if VW took all the luxury sh!t away from Audi, and Audi
just became pure sport and AWD.
