Muffler measurement help needed.

Hey guys (& gals),

I've got a little project at work that I need some help with.

We've decided to come up with a universal performance muffler for use in Audi
quattro applications.

While I would like to create direct-fit systems for the older cars (4000q,
80/90q, UrQ).  The relative small number of people looking for performance
systems for these cars combined with the fact that many probably already have
them makes it a small market to enter!

What we are going to do, however, is produce a universal muffler specifically
for use in quattro applications.  This is where I need a hand.

I need to know if anyone can measure the stock muffler can on their Audi...or,
measure the stock can on that spare you're saving in the garage.

I need the following measurements:

Muffler can length:
Muffler can width:
Muffler can height:
Inlet center to muffler can edge:

Also, does the T44 use a muffler mounted sidways like on these cars?
