10v 90q calipers on a 20v & history of warping

Not sure why it would have been for the previous owner in your case.
However, the ovloV 850 turbo wagon we have had a history of warping rotors
every 5k or so miles since new for the previous owner because they lived at
the top of a steep 2.5 mile grade. Slushbox car in daily "mom's taxi"
service. Many trips riding the brakes down that hill made daily. So far we
have gone ~13k miles with no problems (brakes done when we bought the car).

Driving style (such as conditions stated above), dragging calipers, or
crappy rotors are the likely cause. I'm not so sure about Bendix rotors on
an Audi--perhaps others can comment. If the calipers weren't well rebuilt,
they could be dragging. All those past incidents of warped rotors indicates
that a lot of excess heat was generated in the brakes in the past--which can
damage the calipers.
