Head Gasket Thickness?

Does anyone know the thickness of a compressed head gasket, by chance?
Also, I have been trying to narrow down the actual volume of the 20v
head...I have heard 38cc, 39cc and 49cc from different sources but don't
actually have a 20v head to play around with right now to figure it out
myself :(  Part of my confusion actually comes from an archive search...so
please pardon my asking the same dumb question :)
