Thanks to all who responded to my parking brake questions. I have two mo=
re quick questions, which hopefully have easy answers.
I have an 86 5kcsq with 225,000 km and a blown head gasket. Rather then re=
place the head gasket, my mechanic suggested an engine swap with my parts c=
ar, an 86 5ks non-turbo with 115,000 km. Is the swap possible? And what e=
lse may be involved? If too much is involved, I may just consider sticking=
with my original plan, and get the gasket and TB done.
Also, while adding a new cd player to my car, I noticed two small cylider-l=
ike units mounted against the firewall. Both units have two thin color-cod=
ed hoses connected to them (red/green,brown/purple if memory serves..) Wha=
t are these units? The unit on the left has one hose disconnected, and coi=
ncidently, my driver side seat heater does not work. Any connection? Ever=
ything else seems to be working fine. I haven't checked the electrical on =
the seat heater yet, but I thought I'd ask first. Maybe get away with an e=
asy fix..
Thanks ahead of time for any help. This digest has been an incredible asse=
t ever since I bought my car.
