VIN decoder?

Yeah, but every one I can find there tells me something different. One says that E = 2.2 Turbo for Audi 200 (that can't be right), another say it means "mid to upper engine range for that model, and yet another says upper engine for that model. So, I have no idea what to believe. Anybody know whether C or E mean the 2.3 NG engine in a Type 85? I have no reason to suspect that the car had an engine swap, but you never know...

I searched the archives, but the only link I could find is dead. Can anybody
provide a link to an Audi VIN decoder? The reason I'm asking is that according
to

the 5th space is for the engine and C = NG engine in the CGT (making it a
"Special Build" but my car has the NG and it has E as the 5th space. I just want
to make sure somebody didn't "make" a Special Build and rip me off...
