on Friday my crew was headed to a job site, doing about 75 in the left lane
along with a string of 10+ tractor trailers and heavy trucks. The far left
lane was marked HOV and no one was using it. A tricked out rice rocket (they
think it was an Altima) came by so fast they were certain it was over 110.
10 or so trucks ahead a dump truck moved into the HOV lane. Mr. Rice Rocket
stuffed the brakes so hard the whole back end was off the ground, too late,
and hit the iron T bar under the truck. The car proceeded to spin back and
forth between tractor trailers and cement guard rail, disintegrating
throughout. When it finally stopped spinning and came to a rest in the
middle of the HOV lane, it was basically 2 doors and seats. The driver dove
out and ran to the side of the road - amazingly not just alive but cognisent
enough to get the hell out of the wreck. The road was strewn with parts of
engine and car, and at least 7 trucks pulled over to assess the damage he did
to them. The drivers actual condition is unknown, the car wouldn't make $10
worth of scrap.

Think about it...

If you're doing 20+ mph more than traffic you're approaching slow down and
pass them like a reasonable person, not like a rice rocket. After all,
you're driving an Audi, show some class ;)
