I'm with John on this one, DON'T use the split boots, believe it or not, they are actually more work.

Have you ever tried supergluing an interlocking plastic seam filled with grease in under 1 minute, with very little room to manuver much less move your hands??

The one time I mistakenly tried using one of these peices of crap was on my Dad's Niss*n Sentra, after about 3 hours of swearing and getting my fingers glued together, I went and got the correct stock part, it took less than an hour to change it the right way.
