Questions about buying a new ALLROAD

I think I'm soon ready to take the plunge and buy a new car. I've given
serious thought to buying a 2002 ALLROAD and was wondering if the list had
any rec. on options and if they like the car for what I plan to use it for.
I'm trying to justify sending the few extra $$$'s over a standard A6q avant.
For what seems like a minimal increase in price, the allroad offers quite a
bit more (2.7tt and fancy suspension).

#1 Actually, it's going to be used by my wife for daily driving, picking up
my kid at daycare and for hauling groceries. It will also be used for
several road trip vacations each year. Is the 2.7tt a tolerable engine for
this type of driving?

#2 has there been any major issues with the car?

#3 I'm affraid I can't talk her into a 6 speed, yet i'm no fan of the
tiptronic either. Have the tip trans been reliable?

#4 Pricing... the dealers seem pretty fair on pricing compared to the web
sites "build your own" MSRP. Just wondering what ppl have paid for these
cars.
