A/C compressor types and A/C conversion

So, I've been meaning to ask y'all about this A/C stuff, and since
everyone's talking, here goes... I have a '85 and '84 5kT, so I don't know
how mine compares to other models. Both cars seem to have the same type of
compressor. The front and rear plates are square and the body is round and
smooth, not like other one's I've seen online. What kind of compressor do I
have? I've heard of 3 types, GM, York, and Denso. Mine say nothing on them.

My other question is what parts could I replace to get it to work w/ R-134a
properly? I'm going to stick w/ my compressor just b/c I'm probably stuck
w/ it cuz of price and fitment. I'm also concerned about hoses and lines. I
was reading that R-134a is lighter and can leak through old hoses. Can I
get generic hoses to replace the hoses and lines for the entire system? I'd
prefer generic b/c of the cost. I'm planning on replacing the common stuff
like valves, drier, switches, o-rings, etc. Anything else worth to swap
out. How hard would it be to put in a larger condenser from a generic
source? The '85 is what I'd like to get working. It actually has a charge
of R-12, and seems to be holding, but most places I've gone to don't have
R-12 anymore. Also I'm rebuilding the engine, so it would be great to take
care of this stuff now while I can stand in the middle of the engine bay
and get at everything. Thanks very much for the info!
