Spark plug wire problem

Hi gang,

Unusual problem just occurred to me over the weekend.  While installing new
spark plugs in my '85 4kq, I couldn't plug 3 out of the 5 wires back on to
the new plugs.  Somehow the wire clip in the wire's plug contact has gotten
loose and instead of acting as a retaining spring is now blocking the
threaded portion of the plug from attaching to the wire.  These wires are
in good shape and still measure correctly and I'd hate to have to buy a new
set just cause the clips are loose.  Anybody have this happen to them and
get those *#!% clips back in position?  My attempts with a small
screwdriver were unsuccessful.
