First off a big thanks to all those who helped out.
My first discovery upon inspection of the timing train(?) was that the timing
belt had skipped about 10 teeth on the cam gear. So, I re-set everything and
the car fires right up but as soon as I rev past idle I hear bad noises and
the car chugs for a few seconds then dies.
Upon removing the front cover for the second time I discover that the timing
belt has two teeth shredded off of it. So, as soon as it comes off of idle
the belt starts to slip.
Oh well, at least now I know what is wrong with it.
Does anybody know what thread the crank pulley bolt is? Is it right hand
thread or left hand?
Thanks again,
Matt Kramer
