are 1986/87 5ktq brakes really different from other years?

Mine is a 3 of 86 and the G60's bolted right up. The tubing path was a
little different but not enough that I had to get anything new.

Are the later 86 style significantly better than the early 86? (my car

built in 1985 so I assume it has the early style)

Would the brakes from a late 86 or newer 5k bolt directly onto an early
5k?
(calipers, rotors)

This may be a reasonable route for me to pursue.
