are 1986/87 5ktq brakes really different from other years?

Ken-
If you're set on big reds, you'll need euro S8 rotors and
shims for the bracket- however, you better triple-check the
rotor offsets because IIRC, 5ktq and UrS G60 rotors are not
the same. I think I may be seriously mistaken in the compatibility
of RS2 brackets and 5ktqs.
As for the original question, yes, the G60s bolt right onto the brackets
on an early 5ktq- this doesn't mean that would work on a 4k or other
car.

Huh? Wow. This is very interesting, as my MC-1 donor 5kt has G54's on
it, which are the same as the
o.g. brakes on my Type 85's.
This makes me wonder about the 5kt caliper brackets. Do the G54 and G60
interface the same with the
caliper bracket? That doesn't make sense, because ppl with Type 85's
typically have to swap to 80/90
style front strut housings to get the G60's on, I believe.
Or, perhaps there's something special about the 5k brackets versus the
4k bracket, and it can accept
either caliper. What gives?
There's another question below too.

Going the RS2 caliper brackets and 993tt caliper route, what rotors or
rotor hats are usable to complete
this swap?
Thanks,
Ken, not knowing whether to leave the subject line the same or change
it...
