Thanks for the correction- someone mentioned the Octavia is the same
as an A4- there is one model that is the same as a Passat.
If the Octavia uses a transverse engine, then the TT180, Golf/Jetta 1.8T
have a lot in common with it.
Yes, it would be a huge problem to get the car through DOT/EPA and
definitely not worth it.

Nope, the Octavia uses a transverse mounted engine. Replace "A4" with
"TT", and you're right. Suspension components etc. made for the TT bolts
right up on the Octavia.
Wouldn't it be a problem to get the car titled in the US when it's not
sold there officially and crash tested, emissions tested etc.?
