Weird 5kcstq stuff

I know the automatic cars have one pin of the ECU grounded, causing cutout
if you're on the gas and the brakes at the same time. This is to save the
torque converter. The stick shift cars shouldn't have this connected though,
and with an '87 5kq I assume it's a stick(?) Anyway this is documented on

Though that says 4k RPM, I thought I red somewhere 3k RPM...
Anyway, now that I keep thinking about it, it sounds more and more unlikely,
but still, worth throwing out here, maybe something related.
