water pump with plastic propeller

the impeller is not plastic, but it certainly isn't metal.  it looks as
though audi is replacing the old metal impellers with a substance which
looks like bakerlite.  in replacing the wp on both the rs2 and the ur-q,
i've had to return 2 wp's due to breakage in transit.  not other issues
though.  dealer has also reported no difficulty when i checked upon receipt
of the part.

I lost a battle to get rid of water pump whining completely and as
result I ended up with 3rd pump which has plastic propeller.  I never
saw such thing before.  Anybody has it on a car for a while?  Are there
any known problems due to plastic part?
