I don't believe an Optima is a "gel cell" battery.  It incorporates spiral plates and fiberglass mat, and it fully sealed, but technically not a gel cell.

I've got an Optima red top in my Saturn right now, but that'll likely go into the 4kstq as the Satty gets put more back to stock for eventual release into the wild.
