No - that is not correct.  With the fuel pump jumpered on, you should be
able to test the injectors and spray pattern by lifting the sensor plate.

Anyway, the injectors were not spraying at all, despite fuel delivery and
sensor plate being lifted to its fullest extent.

I found the problem..keep guessing.  Answer in subsequent email.
