bent key?

Yesterday I found that it was hard to insert my key into the ignition,  I
looked at the key and found that it was bent and sort of twisted just
enough so that it would bind a little in the ignition.  Anybody ever have
this happen to them?  IS the metal kind of soft.  I have never had a
problem turning the lock in the door or the ignition.  This happened on my
92 100CSq with the original key that has the alarm button on it.
