questions about high compression 4kq's with NG/NF/Hybrid and CISE

As a test, you may want to try setting initial advance at 6 degrees and
plugging the vacuum advance hose. You'll be short advance on the top end
with only about 26 degrees total. Should the test work, you may be able to
get your distributor re-curved. Your goal should be around 36 degreed total
advance.
You indicate you're running a 272 cam, this should reduce the tested
compression. Yet, your compression numbers match well with a stock cam
running a 10:1 CR. Makes me suspect Javad was on the right track in regards
to the head being shaved. At what elevation are you?

Gears 1-3 will pull to redline quite nicely. In 4th or 5th I get knock
usually around 3500 to 4000 rpms at anything over 1/4 throttle. Sometimes
it feels like the knock dissapates after 4500 or 5000 rpms, though that
could be the exhaust note overwhelming it.
