fog light covers

    Have you tried Plastic Dip (not sure of the brand name).  A friend of mine
use this to cover various parts of his Thule rack.  It is a plastic coat you
dip the part in the stuff.  I'm not sure how long it would last, but it looked
real good on his rack. The Dip comes in different colors.  Maybe if you do
multiple layers it may last longer.
