Nevada..hmm...you a gamblin man? Depending on how bad the leak is, if
your intention is to get home and do the job yourself (ZF rebuilt rack is
what I've always used, they last an average of 10 years from past
experience), you can pick up a 5 gallon pail of Mobil DTE-13M for around
$40 to get you home. Better than pissin away the Green Stuff at $15 a
liter. I've been off the "green gold" Pento$in standard on my 4 type 44
Audi's for a while now, and no adverse effects yet. The stuff also works
well in Mercyless Benz steering and hydraulic suspensions.
For more info on DTE 13M, check the archives, plenty in there, pro and
con.
I have NO personal experience with the Jorgen rebuilts, but plenty of bad
experiences with non-ZF rebuilds. NOTHING like spending a beautiful
Sunday afternoon getting intimate with your type 44's nuts and bolts,
only to have the replacement rack start spewing hydraulic fluid two days
later. BTDT.
