automatic locks

If you're that worried, you can always have it set to not automatically
lock. Sheesh. That's why it's an _OPTION_.

Right, and I'm sure the power lock system and the vehicle bus is going
to survive a serious accident long enough for that to happen. Not only
that, even if the signal does get to the door lock controller in time,
and it does still have power, there are mechanical latency issues to
deal with and the unlocking mechanism may be smashed by the time the
solenoid activates.

Not a bad move on audi's part, but probably not sufficient to ensure
unlocked doors in all accidents.
