Stiffer oil press spring? Bouncy gauge

A curious thing happened regarding my oil
pressure in my 90 200q. I had a malfunctioning
gauge sender. Was going up to 5 bar with engine
off, ignition in run. Kept giving a low oil
press light. ANyway, changed the oil and used an
Audi filter. DOubled my oil pressure nearly
throughout the range, mostly at the low end.
Idle was at ~.7 bar. Changed the switch light
goes away, but the gaue reads barely above the 0
mark at idle. Sometimes the light flashes and
goes away. Cleaned oil pressure spring in oil
pump. Same thing. Tried the synthetic oil
treatment/thickener. Just barely higher. I'm
using Syntec 5w-50 and maybe 1 1/2 qts of 10-30
mobil 1. Anyway, I'm pretty certain there's no
problem with oiling-I removed the valve cover
and saw oil all around, being pumped up while
idling. All other rpm ranges are fine.
>2.0 bar at 2000 rpm, higher at higher rpms
The gauge is now bouncy, not incredibly, but not
smoothly.
What gives? Can I use a higher spring or in
stall a smaller booster on the inside of the
main spring? Where can I get a higher pressure
one? Is it not a big deal?
BTW-the low indicated pressure is generally when
the engine is very hot. Oil temps are stable and
low (normal)
TIA!
