Well, since I haven't seen anyone else respond to this,
I'll give it a shot.

Scene 1: My financee and I were going to visit her extended
family down in South Carolina. Her mother and son decided
they wanted to go along. Mom had to bring the dog, a Peke
that rode in one of those little travel cages. The car was full,
the trunk was full. Nothing unusual there. What was unusual
was that, when crossing North Carolina, 15 hours after leaving
Concord NH, Mom and kid asleep in the back, me feeling as
fresh as when we started the trip, I looked down at the
speedometer and saw 90+. The Audi was starting to hit its
stride. Without other cars on the road to judge my speed, I
had let it creep up to a comfortable level, enough to land this
Yankee in a Deep South jail. Too bad the US doesn't have an
autobahn.

Scene 2: Six months later. A day and a half of snow over the
weekend. No one in the apartment complex had bothered to
move their cars. The landlord, in plowing the middle of the
driveway to keep access clear, had plowed everyone in to
their parking slots. When I went to my Audi the next day,
it sat in a foot snow and had a two-foot berm, courtesy of
the snowplow, packed up to the rear bumper. I got in, started
the car, locked the differentials, and pulled out of my parking
spot in one smooth motion. Everyone else was digging out.

I can't think of any other car that can give me the luxury,
comfort, speed, handling, and 4-wheel-drive sure footedness
of my 13-year-old Audi 200 Turbo Quattro.
