Have you relayed the headlights? V8 headlight switches commonly fail from
overheating causing the plastic connector behind the steering wheel to melt
with the plastic invading the contact socket and interfering with the
connection thereafter. Installing relays takes most of the "power" to the
bulbs out of the switch circuit.
