Here are some basic procedures to follow Dave. This is for CIS-E3
straight from Robert B. AFAIK NF and NG operate the same way.
*engine oil temp min. 80 degrees C.
*all electrical consumers off
*O2 sensor connected
*remove carbon canister vent hose from elbow at intake boot, leave
unplugged.
*remove crankcase breather connections and plug connector (vent
crankcase to atmosphere)
*check Huw's site for excellent details on DPR checking.
*now, assuming no one had frigged with the ignition timing...proceed.
*idle speed spec: 720 +/- 70 rpm
*Note: the idle speed is *not* adjustable. The idle air bypass screw
should be turned in fully against its seat.
*if idle speed is out of range, check for vacuum leaks etc.
I follow this procedure and it works for me. Once you have done this,
let us know what's up.
