You probably don't want to hear this, but then you don't
have to heed my advice either. A 13 year old Audi is
probably going to need some work. If it didn't, the owner
wouldn't be selling it. Audi repairs tend to be expensive,
even if you do them yourself.
If I was a poor college student (again), I'd take the $2K,
spend $1K on a 88-92 VW Golf, not be surprised when I
had to sink another $500 into it to get it sorted and
reliable and ready for those nice Buffalo winters. And
I'd still have $500 left in an emergency repair fund.
Then, when you graduate, you can splurge on a nice A4.
