Should make it no problem (as others have said), but to be safe, just cut
off the AC belt and install the alt belt so you have no worries.
I too have driven my Audi further than that after an alt quit. Had the wife
driving to meet me as I was too far to make it. Swapped batteries (jump
started the the wifes car) and made it home.
I used to have a Kawasaki GPZ 750 turbo that I bought wrecked. It had the
alt wiped off and the end of the crank messed up so that a new alt couldn't
be installed. I installed a cap over the crank and rode it (very fast). I
didn't go far out of town, but never got caught with a dead battery (it
would run quite a while missing due to low voltage). I was caught in the
other sense a few times.
It would run low 11's at my altitude and my total cost was $400. Sold it to
someone who spent $10,000 on it to turn it into a drag bike and run in the
8's.
