I got an all-metal heater valve for my 87 5ktq last year in November, at an
Autozone in Ohio. It was in a box with name "Factory Air Part # 74671,
Heater Valve. All-metal." $18.99 plus tax.
Since that was in 2001, it is old news. So I called "Bob" at my local
Autozone store a few minutes ago and asked if they were still in stock
under that number. Reply: "Yes, $18.99 plus tax."
Bob said he only has one in stock, but could get more by Monday if I wanted
volume. He has no way to mail or ship them. They don't do business that
way. And you know how conglomerates are about business practices. But you
are welcome to travel to Sandusky Ohio USA and pick one up.

If you can't make it here from somewhere else, here is what I will do, to
help my fellow Audi enthusiasts around the world.... email me what you want
and I'll get 'em and ship them to you. I'll pay the $18.99 plus tax
(another $1.14). US Mail will be a few more dollars, probably about 3 or
4. Looks like you guys can have one for about $24....maybe $25 depending on
those shipping/mailing costs. That would cover most places in the USA. Hope
this doesn't sound too commercial. Don't want to break any list rules.
You are responsible for knowing that the valve will fit your particular
model of Audi. The one I can send is an all metal unit that fits my 87 5ktq
just fine. Has a vacuum solenoid on one side.
Who wants one? Send me your check for $25 and I'll make it happen. Note to
Gerard.... South Afrika shipping would be $84-100 so I'll assume you don't
want one at $125 USD.
I'll need your name, address, zip and phone (in case there is an unexpected
problem or delay,) and I'll already have your email address.

Apparently the home of the only Autozone store in America with an all metal
heater valve for an 1987 Audi TQ
