CGT driveshaft aftermath

Howdy all,

So the '82 Coupe decided it didn't like having only one new driveshaft, so
the old one blew up at the outer CV joint. It was great being in downtown
traffic during rush hour, blocking bus zones and pushing the car through
intersections until the tow truck came. What a fun time. What was even
better was the shop of my preference couldn't take the car, so I ended up
paying $60 more at a less familiar place...grumble grumble.

THE BIG POINT to this message is that my alignment is out. Very out. Now, I
know it needed doing anyway, but this shop did such a poor job putting my
new driveshaft in that my alignment is now so far out that the car pulls in
an entirely new direction, and my steering wheel must be cranked over alot
farther than I have ever had to before.

Do I have any grounds for complaint against this shop? I plan to let them
know about the alignment, and that the car is rather unstable on the highway
with the alignment being whacked like it is, etc etc. How far should I push
on this subject?

Is there any BTDT on this, and how far can one push for repair, etc etc?
FWIW, the shop that put my other driveshaft in (the one that couldn't take
me in my moment of emergency) was so good at it that they didn't put
anything out of order.

regards,

Geordie
