Wheel/Tire Sizing (again)

For your 88 type 44 TQ

You can fit A4 (i.e. 45 mm offset) 16 x 7's with virtually
ANY 205/55-16 without too many problems (MY car was really
close to the steering knuckle on the INSIDE, that's fixable
with H&R spacers availible from TireRack, stick to 5 mm or
less and you can even use the original wheel bolts). Clearances
are close all around, but there's enough, even for a lowered
car. It's wider sizes that cause an issue if you want to go
for the 16 and 17 inch size wheels. I understand that 225/50-15
fit just fine on a 15 x 7 or so inch rim (such as Fuch's).
