H4s are just OK, nothing special. They're the only ones not requiring an
alternative solution for the turn signals, though.
Early Cabriolets had H4/H1 lights, those are pretty decent. Late Cabriolets
had Hella DE projector lights which are excellent.

I'd try to think of an alternative solution for the turn signals and go for
dual-bulb lights, if you're considering changing the hood anyway... sure,
you can see where you're going with the H4s but the dual-bulb lights will
be a REAL upgrade.
