OK, I know how to remove the 84-88 slave
cylinders from 5000t/q's. Now how do I get it
out of my 90 200q?
Next thing- The metal portion of the hose was
leaking, too. Coincidence or me fiddling around
with the area. Anyway, I found the design to be
ridiculous: a hoop going around the tie rod???
Why did Audi do this? Apparently, the tie rod
was tapping against the pipe once in a while,
and that stressed the fitting at the slave end
and cracked it. Anyway, I replaced it with the
all rubber and shorter hose from my 87 5ktq. It
does fit, although the hexes are a different
size at the slave end. Anyway, I found upon
examination, the inside diameter of the 200 hose
is smaller than the 5000. I wonder how this will
translate when I get the new cylinder. 200 hose:
longer length, smaller diameter. 5000 hose:
shorter length, larger diameter. Anyway, I hope
the 5000 hose will work and if I need to rebuild
the 200 hose, I'll do it in two pieces screwed
together at the anastamosis between the rubber
and metal. I'll have the hoop widened and
lengthened upward.
Clutch slave $$$:
TPC $49 in stock
ZZ motors $50 allow one extra day for Peter to
order it.
Any Btdt's with the r&r of the 200 hose? Anyone
use the 5000 hose? How much? Right now, I have
about 3 inches of clutch actuation with my dead
cylinder. Tried to bleed, but nada.
TIA!
