Modified 5000 Turbo Vacuum Hose layout

Last week I posted regarding not obtaining the anticipated boost after
rebuild and modifications to our '87 Turbo Quattro. I received a lot of
good advice, and after reapeatedly hearing to check my bypass valve setup,
found to my surprise that that was indeed the culprit. I was sure I had it
hooked up correctly, but as it turns out the port I used was the one on
the throttle body that did not measure manifold vacuum correctly for the
bypass valve.

Anyway, I have that all straightened out and have set the Schrapnel Knob
and ECU to accomodate 16 PSI boost or just over 2 Bar which seems to be a
good setting until I can get around to hooking up the 034EFI to control the
extra fuel injector I have installed.

I took the time to modify the vacuum hose layout, showing the Pressure
Regulator(aka Schrapnel Knob), Bypass valve, and boost guage. I have not
had time to update any of my uncompiled documentation including this
diagram. Ultimately I would like to do a complete writup on what was for
me a rather complicated and sometimes frustrating job of rebuilding the
engine and installing the T3/K26 turbo, bypass valve, exhaust, extra
injector/EFI, etc.. There was much retrofitting involved, and this makes
other engine swaps I have done before seem trivial in comparison.

For those who would like a copy of the diagram let me know, because I will
not likely have time to update my site for awhile, and my 2.3l engine swap
remains on the back burner.

I'd like to take the time to acknowledge Javad Shadzi especially for
helping me through some details of the turbo installation, and for putting
up with some grief I gave when things did not seem to go right.

Thanks also to the members in this list who gave advice along the way. I
never would have undertaken this kind of DIY task without the information
and encouragement that this list provides.
