I have/had 2 CGT's that exhibited similar behavior. I at first tried swapping
in several different replacement senders on the block. I now have 4 pressure
senders. This had no effect. And yes I'm refering to both the 2 pole _&_
single pole units.
I then called a small German independant shop and explained the problem. They
immediately responded with the "Oh the oil light problem" statement that
convinced me they knew what the cause was & could cure it. I was told it was
an electrical problem in the dash pod, with the buzzer & light, not a sender
issue.
I left the car with them for a day, which was a mjor pain at the time, and
went back to pick up the car. On arrival they were trying to bill me for
something else, and I knew I was not going to have my oil pressure issue
resolved.
The point here not being the bad garage but that I have seen this repeatedly
and changing and even unplugging the senders doesn't change the dash display.
My daughters CGT has a guage and therefore the light is ignored since I can't
find any resolution to this.
I'm interested in what ends up as the final cure.
