Might I suggest an NG engine? More power even stock than you KX has. Or if you want to stick with a KX and just build it up, use the head and throttle body of an NG? That will get you bigger valves and a larger throttle body. Now throw in a cam, porting & polishing, balancing & blueprinting and a nice custom exhaust system with a high flow cat and you'll have a really nice engine for your 4kQ.

Subject: 4kq motor build

The time has come to build a replacement motor for my 4kq.
It's got 240k on it so I'd like to build it's replacement so I am ready when
the day comes to replace it, whether it is in two months or two years.
What I'd like to do is get a little more power out of it, stick with good
bottom end torque and decent power up to the 5500-6000k rpm range without
going turbo and still keeping it very streetable and dependable.
Porting, cam, boring, etc but I don't want to go with the light flywheel.
Anyone got the BTDT experiences that you are willing to share.
Email direct if you like and TIA
