quite happy with the swaps I'd do with 4 pot h2o VW's using junkyard motors
from newer cars with higher compression and updated engine management.
 Throw in a cam, a little port&polish, bigger exhaust.  That would be
pretty analogous to my NG swap.

You could usually do one of these swaps in very short order compared to
some of the other upgrades I've seen done.  I guess it depends on what your
objectives are.
