If needed: Best exhaust manifold sealant

Caterpillar (the Diesel engine MFG) uses multipiece slip fit style
manifolds on several of their large diesel engines. After about a million
miles the slip joints start to leak so they provide a manifold sealant paste
to cure the problem. It is fairly expensive stuff and can only be purchased
at a Cat engine dealer but it flat works.

Currently I have 4 broken studs in my 10vt head and the Cat manifold sealant
has kept it from leaking for about 8K miles. It is applied as a thick paste
and then it dries into some kind of a hard crystalized metal/concrete
substance....

Could be the answer for someone that really needs it
