Looking for four-season tire recommendations

I would recommend NOT compromising safety for convenience.

I run winter tires when there are adverse road conditions, and I run
performance tires in good weather.

I know this swapping takes more work, but invest in another set of rims (so
many people buy new rims for looks anyway), deal with storing a set of
tires, and you can swap very quickly and easily. Far safer, and it's even
better for the roads. Might actually keep taxes down if you want to stretch
the argument that far.

I know several people that just remount the tires twice a year, and only
store their seasonal tires. This will allow for re-balancing as well.

just MHO, I see so many cars with bad tires, or studs in the summer. People
don't consider how important tires are to ANY vehicle.
