I used Firestone LH Touring Radials on two Quattro Avants....first my 5000CS
and then my 200.  Superb tire in all conditions.  I drive my cars every day,
in all weather here in Eastern Maine, where we get a whole lot of
everything.

The Firestones were quiet, great in rain and snow, and during the "Ice Storm
of the Century", the car was on the road every day, going twenty miles back
and forth carrying bags of rock salt for use on the walkways around my
commercial property.

I have Continental somethings on my wifes 100CS Quattro Avant, now, and
Pirelli 6000 somethingorothers that came, new on my '93 V8 Quattro.  All
were ok this winter, but the next tire for either of these cars will be
Touring LH.

For the price, I wouldn't try anything else that I have to pay for.  Two and
one half sets were proof enough for me.

Nope.  On a Quattro, I can't imagine the need for a winter or studded tire,
so long as the tread is less than 60% gone.  After 60%, Quattros get
squirrily.
