    I stand corrected.  I thought the 16v cars were a little different
how the memory fades...I do remember Digifant wasn't the way to go
though at that time.

Yes, this was introduction of the "Big Bumpers".  They did update the
look of the cars.

Which was unfortunate for the GTI's.  I was told the GLI's  in 90 were
from Mexico.  But that was some time ago...

    Yeah, but the interior lost the useable shelfs under the dash.  I
perferred them.
