I am about to install a Crimestopper Remote Keyless Entry that I picked up on
Ebay for about $30.00 into an '89 80 Quattro and have some questions.

1) I have seen some wiring diagrams
http://www.20v.org/remote.htm that utilize Radio Shack DPDT relays for
use in cars with and without factory alarms. I do not have a factory alarm
and wanted to know if a setup using standard BOSCH type relays such as this
one
http://www.the12volt.com/images/vacuumlocks.gif would work just as well.

2) In the 80Q when the ignition key is inserted the right front door switch
will not avtivate the central locking system. This is done as a precaution
against locking one's keys in the car. I know that this is a personal
preference type question, but any thoughts on wheteher you would keep this
"feature" and hook the keyless entry control unit to the passenger side lead
or connect it to the driver's side lead.

3) I have read alot about installing diodes accross the coil on the relay --
is this necessary ? and if so which diode should I use.

Thank you.
