5000 CSTQ Brake Lines

Two questions, 1) how is the compensator for the rear
brakes designed to work? Bentley says it is there to
prevent the brakes from locking during cornering, and
2) where is the least expensive place to find
replacement brake lines for an 86 5000 CSTQ?
