ACK! $20 Brady? When I went looking for the 17mm drain plug tool, I had
exactly the same experience as yourself. Instead of waiting several business
days for the $15 or $20 tool from the industrial store, I said "screw it"
and drove to my local VW/Audi parts store and asked them straight up if they
sold a drain bolt tool. Sure enough, they did, and it cost me no more than
$10 if I can remember. Actually, I think it was a touch less. It might not
be the highest quality tool in my box, in fact, it looks rather cheap, but
then again,  it's not like I need to use it very often.

Never underestimate your parts counter, I guess. The place I go to has had
every special Audi tool I have ever needed, and at a surprisingly low price
at that.
