They're BS-ing. S8 is available with 6-speed manual in Europe, so is S6.
And the RS4 has manual tranny as well... how much torque does it make?
One of the best things about Audi S-cars is that unlike Mercedes (all
AMG models are available with automatic only) and BMW (M5 is available
with manual only) they let you choose the type of  transmission you like
best. It would really be a shame if Audi changed this policy.
