MAC14 codes 2322, 2342

This is becoming a theme.  Why are alarm installers
such hacks?  Is it a cost issue?  Are they just trying
to slam this thing in as cheap and dirty as possible?
Doesn't the Audi alarm work?  I thought it pretty good
for it's day.
