Examine all the hoses and rubber fittings, particularly the crankcase breather
system and the valve cover fitting. There is also a line that runs between the
valve cover and the intake manifold that is prone to cracking. Clean the ISV
as well and examine those hoses.

Looking won't tell you much. Remove them all and leave them connected to
the fuel lines. Lay them on a thick towel on top of the valve cover,
energize the fuel pump and lift the air damper plate. Observe the spray
pattern, it should be a conical pattern with a mist rather than a solid
stream. IOW, atomized. Any that show a poor pattern, or that weep after the
pump is shut off should be replaced. Replace the seals....another source for
vacuum leaks.

Nope, do it properly. Take the proper readings from the FD with a VOM.
Get a Bentley manual.
See yesterdays post about "vacuum leak finding" using propane. Just be careful,
you should be able to find any by visual inspection of the hoses etc. Most
common sources of leaks. Oh yeah, how's your valve cover gasket??
