Check for corrosion in the distributor cap, bad plug wires, bad plug caps.
I had exactly this problem in my 5K, car ran like sh*t until warmed up,
worse on cold and/or wet days. Found green "fungus" in one terminal of
distributor cap - replacing cap and wires cured it utterly.

Now you can send me the Thinkpad so I can give it to my wife ;-)
